Why ask?? Why do they run the Hatorade twin's on thurs before the Daytona 500??
They want to kill all AMA racing. Once again I will say it:
I HATE THE FUCKING AMA.........GREED AND PERSONAL AGENDA has ruined a once great MC group. They don't really care about riders anymore it's all about money

there has always been racing during the week. That's were bike week came from, a week of racing to open the season. I think the DMG/France family were trying to tap into the mass quantities of bike week vacationers to bolster the attendance numbers. Lots of people leave on sat and sun. The only people adversly affected by it are the locals like us who would ride down just to watch the racing.
(Personally I don't think most of the people who visit the speedway vendors even know that there is racing going on right behind them.)
I'm not saying I agree with it, I missed the races last year 'cause I headed down sat only to find out Superbikes raced on Fri night, but I don't think I would attend this year anyway, now that they charge you to sit in the infield and watch the race. It used to be free to motorcyclist; not anymore.

I don't know what day the were last year but this year, March 6 is a Saturday.
I know why they do it during the week though. It's so no-one can see the fiasco that has become AMA pro roadracing.

:study: here's my take...
It's on Friday because if for :":weather reasons:": they need to reschedule they can do it on Saturday and still get the BIG CROWD... where as Sunday, like Scat said a lot of travelers tend to head home. And with this being "under the lights" who wants to stay for a Sunday night race?
I'll be there.

Funny that it is the 200 by Honda even though Honda pulled their corporate participation. :toycloser:

Which is why I did not use the word "sponsorship", but I still find it amusing.

I forgot that last year was also on the week days, but the 200 was at 800pm. But before the AMA/Daytona the superbikes would run on Sat and Sun then the 200 around 4pm on Sunday's. Superstock guys would run on Fridays.
But I can see why Mat M and Ben moved on. Mat is rumord to return in the WSBK. And Speis will still kick ass where ever he goes. He could be on a big wheel and still kick every one's ass! :roflwerd:

I know for years and years they always raced on Sunday of course. But, over the last couple of years they have moved the main event races to Saturday. Trying to drum up business and ticket sales. Due to most people leaving the bike event on Sundays and Saturday night.

If it matches the same pattern as last year, I may take that Thursday off, ride out there, stay the night, and make a real vacation of Bike Week. :hmm:
