What's up all? I'm new in town and would like to meet some cool new people in the Orlando area to go on some saturday and sunday rides. Weekdays and bike nights are kinda out cause I take night classes at MMI. So if you see a guy with a black '03 CBR600RR with big blue nautical stars on the sides and a blue windscreen with a big white old english D on the back of his helmet then come talk to him or pull him over or just give him the finger :finger: if you see fit. Whatever works. Or just hit me up on here and we can meet up somewhere for a ride.

Welcome to Orlando!
There are a couple of groups who ride most Sundays. I'll try to remember to post here about the next one. Even if a ride isn't organized, I still go out on Sunday, sometimes Saturday, to Lake County.

The one's off taft-vineland is the UTI (automotive) and MMI (Marine) buildings. The motorcycle buildings are on Delegates. If you go down the street that Wendys is on the corner of (Principal) then hook a right on the first street, it's down there.

I'm originally from Detroit so a middle finger in the air is practically just a form of hello to us.

I roll right by there both on my way to school and on my way home. What is the deal with tradeport / taft-vineland anyway? Does anyone ever do the speed limit on that street? There are times I'm doin' like 70 and practically getting passed.

Nope, all the classes are kept pretty seperate so I really only know the people in my class. I've only been there about a month so I still have a little while before I grajumitate with my ejumikashun.

only time I tend to slow down on tradeport / taft-vineland is coming over that wicked bump at the intersection of boggy creek. Holy crap. First time I hit that I was doing like 75 and thought I was goin right over the front of the bike. That and whenever I get a dumb ass semi in front of me on taft-vineland. Why does everyone feel they need to stop for those train tracks right behind the gas station on the corner of (I think) Orange Ave? I've seen way worse tracks than that.

So... who's riding this weekend? Chuck (you can stay sober for one fricking night!).. Flash? Do you want to ride tomorrow?
BlkCBR, do you want to go out to West Orange/Lake County?

Yay! Deacon is coming up to ride with us!
So..for those who have answered my text message, here's the tentative plan (this might change depending on what part of town Deacon ends up staying at):
Meet at the Albertsons on 436 & Curry Ford @ 8am, and then we will ride over to W Hwy 50 to meet up with the others. Then on to Lake County.

I'm in. Man....I dont remember the last time I woke up at 7:00 a.m. and was outta the house by 8:00. But if thats how you guys do things I guess I'll have to get used to it. Anyone know if there is supposed to be any rain tommorrow? What am I saying? It's Florida, there is rain everyday.

I'm pretty messed up from all the heat and sun today. I pretty much hate my life right now.
I have my alarm set but if I still feel like this I'm not gonna be riding anywhere.

You are lucky I don't know where you live. I'd back my bike up to your bedroom window @ 7:30 tomorrow morning and do my first burnout since I got it. I can't believe you are going to stand me up again. :ohno:
Anyway, hope you feel better, Chuck.
Soon.
Like ... in the morning.

Yeah I had a great time. Some of the best twisties I've ever ridden! Even with the eh hem.......crash. Yeah well, I walked away and the bike made it through unscathed so I guess it all worked out. Those are a great bunch of guys. Hope they don't hate me too much after today. If so just add them to the long list. If not I'm always down for a good ride and I'd go with those guys anytime.

No worries man! Like you said, you didn't get hurt - that's the most important thing. And you didn't take anyone else out, so there's no ill will at all from any of them. You are welcome to ride with us anytime.
But if you liked those roads, you should come out with another group I ride with, over to Crystal River. That video I sent you.. that road was in Crystal River. That is one of the best roads (probably top 3) I've ridden on in Florida.
I'll let you know the next time they go over there. It's a longer ride though. 300 - 350 miles.

We went out with a group I've been riding with since before I met all the forum people (though there were a couple new faces, and a few missing ones). The guy who leads, Richard, is a blast to ride with. Great rider, great instinct, I can trust his lines, his judgment. And he's a really nice guy in general.

Hmmm... you might be right. I seem to remember running into them when I was out with you one day.
Yeah, like is an understatement. I don't know what it is about riding with Richard, but the sight of his bike & helmet in front of me gives me no end of joy. Probably b/c I know I'm in for a good ride, and that group is highly entertaining at the gas stops. :D

I recomend all of you go riding with Richard if the chance comes up. That guy is amazing on 2 wheels. On top of the fact that he's always willing to give you a tip or 2 if he notices something. Plus, from what I've seen, he's an amazing painter. One of the guys we were with today told me that he went down a little while back. Well, Richard only painted half his bike. You couldn't even tell! It was perfect. No line, no blend marks, NOTHING. I'd let him paint or wrench on my bike anyday. Plus he's awesome to ride with.

i am so freaking mad right now. i wanted to ride so badly this weekend and kept checking over at that "other site" (sbn) and didnt see anything posted up so i figured there was no ride this weekend. stupid me. i never thought to check back here. holy crap i wanted to ride so bad. i should have at least pm'd you over there to see if anything was going on. glad you had fun at least.

Sorry Flash! I thought you were watching this thread.
I didn't post it on SBN this time. Once Richard said he was riding, that was enough. He usually has anywhere from 4 - 8 people with him, so I didn't want to end up with a huge crowd by bringing another whole group along.
But you could have come. I'll let you know next time!

It's up to each student to get as much as they can out of any school, so if the people you know don't know sh!t, that reflects as poorly on them as it does on the school.

word to your mother, acalliste. I'll admit, there are people I know at that school that I'd never let touch my bike let alone look at it. But they are/were retarded long before they ever set foot in that school.
